Privacy Policy

Big Text does not collect, transmit, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising and no server belonging to us. Everything you type and every setting you choose stays on your device. The app works fully in airplane mode.
Big Text ("the app") is developed by Jairon Landa ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.
What stays on your device
The app stores the following locally, in its own private storage, and nowhere else:
- The messages you write, and the collections you organise them into.
- The appearance of each message: text colour, background colour, font, size, scrolling speed, direction, blink, glow and position.
- Your app settings (theme, language override, default scrolling direction) and the unsaved draft message the editor opens on.
- Whether you have unlocked Big Text Pro.
This information is never transmitted anywhere. It is removed when you delete the item in the app, clear the app's storage from Android's settings, or uninstall the app.
Permissions
Big Text requests no runtime permissions. It never asks for storage, location, camera, microphone, contacts or any other permission that Android prompts you to grant.
The app declares network access in its manifest. This is required by Google Play's billing library in order to sell the one time Pro unlock. No part of the app contacts the network unless you open the Pro unlock screen or tap Restore purchases.
Screen brightness is adjusted only for the app's own window while a message is on screen. The app does not change your device's system brightness setting.
Importing and exporting collections
You can export a collection to a file and share it, and you can import a collection file someone has sent you.
- Exporting writes a file inside the app's own cache directory and hands it to Android's share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice. We never see it.
- Importing opens Android's system file picker. You choose one file, the app reads that file, and it receives access to nothing else on your device.
Collection files contain only the messages and settings described above. They contain no identifier for you or your device.
Purchases
Big Text offers a single one time purchase to unlock Pro features. There is no subscription.
The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or receive your payment details, card number, billing address, email address or Google account. Google tells the app only whether the unlock has been purchased. Information you provide to Google during a purchase is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.
Restoring a purchase on a new device asks Google Play the same single question, and likewise sends us nothing.
Ratings and links
The Settings screen can open Google Play's rating sheet and can open this policy in your browser. Both hand the request to another app on your device and transmit nothing to us. A review you choose to leave is published on Google Play under Google's terms, not ours.
Crash and performance information collected by Google
Android and Google Play may collect crash and performance information about apps on your device, including this one, if you have turned on sharing usage and diagnostics data in your device settings. This collection is performed by Google, not by the app. Big Text contains no crash reporting or analytics software of any kind, and we cannot enable, disable or configure it.
We can see aggregated stability reports for the app in Google Play Console. These do not identify you. You control this in your device's Google settings. See Google's account help for how.
Children
Big Text is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone regardless of age.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to send you or erase. Your content is already in your hands: it is on your device, you can export it to a file at any time, and deleting it in the app or uninstalling the app removes it.

Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what it does with information, we will update this page and change the effective date above before that version is released. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
